Gandhi was quite wise and, over time, he certainly came to love deeply his wife. It was quite sad that she did not live to see the independence of India. Of course, she was spared the separation and violence between Hindus and Muslims during the formation of India and Pakistan – in two locations – one of which later became Bangladesh.
Yes, Gandhi definitely was a wise man who fell in love, eventually.
