Complacency

Complacency about America’s 2020 elections and thereafter is not an option for our worthy Republic. In the Wall Street Journal, under Review & Outlook, May 12, 2021, is a timely piece, “A Time Bomb for the 2022 Elections.” It examines the horrors of the house bill (H.R.I.) to seize control of election rules nation-wide.

“GOP leader Mitch McConnell knocked Democrats for trying to ‘hotwire our democracy itself without a single vote from the other side.’” Also, the opinion editorial explains that the bill requires no-excuses mail ballots, counting votes 10 days late as long as they were stamped on election day, same-day registration, and ballots for felons in prison.

Even New Hampshire’s Secretary of State, a Democrat, opposes H.R.I. since it would overturn his state’s election provisions enshrined in a 1783 state constitution.

As the piece states, “the 2020 election was no good for voter confidence. Two in a row would be worse. The U.S. doesn’t need Democrats forcing states to adopt a new election code that could be struck down months before, or after, the next vote.”

In my opinion, our Republic is in dire peril. Not only do we need to roundly reject H.R.I., but the 2020 election must go through a forensic audit and count, especially in the states cited in the Navarro Report, and all questionable House and Senate races.

Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray!
