Let’s pause for a moment to honor ALL who have, are, or will work. One of Gandhi’s Seven Deadly Social Sins was; “Wealth Without Work.” On a trip to India, I was fortunate to visit a wealthy Hindu gentleman and his lovely family. He ran an apparently large business. Yet he also presided over a substantial school of perhaps 30,000 students. He used his talents and wealth wisely through his own labor, certainly NOT violating the wealth without work that Gandhi cited.
Worthy work gives us a sense of meaning and purpose and may convey a sense of healthy self-esteem. It also teaches as we learn by doing. Even getting to work on time can convey an important life skill.
