The goals of improved intelligence and delayed gratification

Self-discipline and delayed gratification are two qualities each of us and all of us have a continuing need to cultivate.  Timing is an important aspect of life.  We—as parents, schools and as a society—must teach each person that delayed gratification is one of the key parts of self-discipline.  Our intelligence is not static.  The more we read, study an do, the more apt we are going to improve our working intelligence.  Our goal should be to strive toward the greatest possible intelligence and the fostering of delayed gratification.
